Plan B

It was cloudy and drizzling this morning, and the RMNP forecast called for cool temps, T-storms and a half inch of rain. So I stayed in Boulder and got in a quick out and back hike on the Mesa trail. 13 miles, 1600' elevation gain.

This will be the last weekend for my Vasque hiking shoes. The fronts and sides are shredded; the soles have detached at the heel; and the treads are partly shot. I think they only lasted about 300 miles as they were built like lightweight trail runners, i.e. not very sturdy.

Waiting in the wings is a pair of Oboz Sawtooth hiking shoes I got on ebay. I'll see if they're any sturdier...
